Good morning.
All right.
There's power in the mic, but there's more Power in the Blood of Jesus.
Amen, that's a pasta joke, but it's real, we are I'm passing Cherokee Molina.
I'm so thankful to have a guest here this morning with us and I thought you gave the welcome earlier, it is always a pleasure, always welcome, our newcomers.
And as we bring him build up, send out.
It is our heart as a church body.
And this morning, I was talking to report and topic of church leadership in our our, our our series.
And like I said, I don't always do series but when it the word of God allows it and it's a beautiful way to capture and to do a theme and we're talk about talk about church leadership or talk about manhood.
We're talking about biblical manhood today, were talking about leadership in the home as a husband.
And so we're in 1st Timothy Chapter 3, this is and you're like what password he get that from?
We're going through at the requirement.
For eldership for a pastor, a Shepherd, some folks know, the word is Bishop but you are a servant leader to God's people, and so when you're called to that, you have to meet certain requirements.
So we're going to go through the word of God.
I've been reading chapter 1 through 7, the last 3 weeks, that's the fourth week.
We're going to read it all together again because it with repetition that sticks, and it's always good to understand the context of what we're talking about.
This is truly, the requirement.
The Apostle Paul is sending to Timothy a young Pastor in charge of the churches of a consistent, more than likely more more than just a church, but it hurts his meeting in homes and corporate Gatherings as well.
Under the persecution of the Roman government, dealing with lots of things, and lots of church polity, as we know it today.
Lots of ups and downs with the struggles and today, we're continuing our mission.
Through chapter 3, 1 through 7, focusing on verses four, and five talk about managing of one's household stuff.
You had your Bibles with you.
Please open them up, break that bind and we're going to read chapter 3 verses 1 through 7 together.
Is it the word of God?
The same as trustworthy?
If anyone aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a noble task there for an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded self-controlled respectable respectable hospitable able to teach not a drunkard, not violent, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money, he must manage his own household well with all dignity, keeping his children.
Submissive or someone does not know how to manage his own household.
How will he care for God's Church?
He must not be a recent convert or he may become popped up with conceit and fall into the combination of the devil.
Moreover, he must be well, thought of by Outsiders, so that he may not fall into this race into a snare of the devil, may God bless.
Everything was worried.
That spray father.
I think you forward a, thank you for being your word is live.
It's alive.
It's, it is apparent to us or your truth today is applicable.
It's an errant and I thank you, Father, for your word appraise.
We focus in on or husband responsibilities in the in the household and the qualifications of an elder.
I pray.
Lord God that you would speak to our hearts that we would learn.
As we are taught from your word.
I pray that we would hear the truth.
They are Holy Spirit, would penetrate our heart and we're guy that you and have our way and have your way.
With us or God and we would surrender our way to you in Christ's name, I pray.
Amen.
So could be housed in the house of the Lord, to be able to preach the word of God.
As, you know, the last couple weeks.
My voice has been a little in and out.
So I'm thankful to be in full volume and I'm thankful to have power in the mic system so I don't lose it again.
So praise the Lord.
As if you do, remember Sabrina's dalgic looking at the last three years, we have gone through many different meeting areas and we are coming up on a year meeting.
Here has been a blessing we've met at Marker 37, we've met at the beach.
We may never other church locations in the evening and it's it's great to have the comfort of air conditioning and this hot Texas heat.
So, praise God, for that list of those that have been there and been with us throughout the years.
Remember, and just enjoy them and appreciate that this morning.
As if we, as you look through or weeks here is going week for leaving the house in the home and as a husband, and then fly.
Tomorrow.
Or next week is the leading, the home as a father.
And then six is leading in the community, right?
I said, reputation part, that's not being in disgrace, that's not falling in the condemnation because we're well, thought of by Outsiders.
So, what this is again, reiterate for those that have not been working through the passage with us, is this is God's principles and his standards for biblical eldership.
Okay.
Pastoral leadership in the church and it specifically understanding this is an earmark, a standard that every Elder should an absolutely are held accountable to but this is for all Believing in a god, it's a standard to be attained to and his weary raise up or Legacy or children in the church.
That's a standard for them to a chain for a tank shoe.
We'll talk a little bit about that next week, as he talked about fatherhood and raising up our children in the way of the Lord.
So I'm sewing Courage by this passage to remember.
This is a family worship environment.
We have kids, we have wifey of women, men husband, and we all this is the word of God into.
It's always good for all of us.
And every bit of it is important for us to read and understand.
That's why I love expository preaching.
And peeking through the word, you can't get away from the heart passages and it is challenging.
So I asked me if you look at this and these are very basic points were recalled to as mentally.
Need love and protect.
It's real simple.
I normally go at 4 but I'm going to leave that.
Leave the protect the provision part for next week.
But it's I always say if a man of God Is is under submission of a lord.
We are truly loving, Lord God, with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, that we all that were utterly capable of.
We give to the guy to give give the guy stewardship and is in the word that we look at it.
In this context of manage, the word manage is a synonym for stewardship is what God has given us.
So we think about biblical manhood, we lovely provide and protect right.
In when we, we understand that our god-given role in in Challenge and wait, we step up to the plate and in women in the Church of love hearing this because they are, there is as loving help me code equals in and Joint heirs or talk about that here in a minute and understand the complementarian understanding of theology.
But they Women should be championing this message because we want our men to stand up and today Church in 2022.
I want to get started quick here but we need it.
We need men to be men with God designed us to be and we need women.
We talk about Womanhood a few weeks ago and heard.
And what that looks like in the Biblical context with the world has tried to pervert and degrade and reduce it down to So on that note, men, we are called to lead Elders.
If we're not, if we're aspiring the noble task of eldership, in, in the passage, we just read over leading first in our home and I'm going to go to Genesis chapter 2. As is my favorite passage always going back to Genesis.
Design is Blueprints and it never ever get solved because we always need to go back to the first president that God has established for us to be under authority of design.
So too, you understand that this is a leadership role and in there's many things that that God has ordained.
Us as men to lead, one of those that we have is the design and Genesis chapter 2 of leadership.
So this is this is truly my favorite passage in all and all of Genesis as between Genesis 1 into the Genesis one is a regarded, very highly, it's the most powerful.
God's omnipotence displayed, his God, created the heavens and the Earth in the beginning, God created the heavens and the Earth that time space and matter in all one verse and she just kind of summarize boom, right there, right and in science is just starting to keep up, catch up to God's word.
An understanding with that means the expanse.
And it is continually expanding the way God made it.
Beautiful.
And I and I and unfortunately science is gone away from God's design.
And what it, what we have here in in Genesis Genesis 2:24 in read that first it says, therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife.
And they shall become one flesh.
And now there's many different readings of this and understanding, but there's only one true way of truly understanding their.
