Chilean miners are rescued after 69 days underground. On October 13, 2010, the last of 33 miners trapped nearly half a mile underground for more than two months at a caved-in mine in northern Chile, are rescued. The miners survived longer than anyone else trapped underground in recorded history.

11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

As the world looks on we can all agree that we are living in unprecedented times. we sometimes find it difficult to even trust God to deal with life situations.
We find ourselves struggling financially trying to make ends meet, trying to figure out how to navigate the difficulties we face each day.
With the cost of food rising, and gas going up and down, with other financial responsibilities facing us in today's world, we may sometimes wonder is there light at the end of the tunnel?
In Jeremiah 29:11, we find parts of a letter that Jeremiah sent to those who were captives in Babylon.
This letter like the gospel of God is a revelation of God’s mind, and a reminder of Jews sins and iniquities, which caused them to become the slaves of an foreign power.
As we break this verse down today I would like to begin with:

11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Sometimes when you and I are struggling with the cares of this world,
it would seem like we are trapped in an underground Mine that seems to have caved in on us.
No matter where you look, there is darkness all around us, we feel like there is no way out, and all hope is fading.
If that’s you this morning? I believe if you listen to this message, God has a Word and a solution to your Struggles.
As a Pastor and Chaplain I volunteer at a nearby hospital where I meet lots of people who come looking for relief from sickness and physical pain.
Some injuries are minor and others require a visit to the critical care unit.
I met a young lady in the hospital the the other day, with a long list of problems in her life, instead of getting better, life continues to get worse.
She was depressed, with little hope that things were going to get better. She was a Christian who was distracted with the cares of this world.
As I prayed for her, I felt a peace and a relief that came over her that day.
I reminded her of the thoughts that God had for her.
What exactly is God's thoughts concerning us?
They are personal thoughts. Neither science nor philosophy can tell you what God thinks of us. "Thoughts that I think toward you" His thoughts are so personal, He can pick us out of a crowd.
The heavens declare his glory, but his own lips must tell me what he thinks of me.
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you.”
God also has

11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
They are PEACEFUL thoughts. “Thoughts of peace and not of evil.”
The guilty will naturally imagine God's Thoughts toward him are thoughts of war and destruction.
But remember God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself.
Without peace, there’s no happiness. The question is, how do we find peace in this stormy sea of suffering?
What does the Word say about Peace?
Philippians 4:7 (NKJV)
7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Isaiah say’s
3 You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.
8 I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.
We don't come close to thinking the way God thinks
God says in Isaiah 55:8

8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.
The thoughts that God has for us is:

God wants us to stay focused on the light at the end of the tunnel In other words Jesus is the light at the end of the tunnel
Jesus is the Light of the world!
This statement was made while Jesus was talking to a multitude of Jews gathered in Jerusalem for the Feast of Tabernacles. Which was one of the three major feasts each year.
No matter what life looks like here on earth, we must remember that we are only passing through,
We are believing and trusting God for our future, and our hope is in Jesus Christ our Lord.
I don't care what your problem or your situation is
Your finances may be in disarray, your health may be failing, your love ones may have gone on, maybe you've gotten a bad report from the doctor, or maybe your relationship is falling apart before your very eyes, or just maybe, it seems like your at the end of your road!
Child of God don't you dare give up! The word says that I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.
All of us will be leaving this old world at some time, God has a new Jerusalem the holy city, just waiting for us.
Revelation 21:4 (NKJV)
4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

In conclusion I leave you with the Light of Hope at the End of The Tunnel
18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.
20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope;
21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
22 For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.
23 Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.
24 For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees?
25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
If you’d would like to receive Jesus today, please pray this prayer with all of us:
Lord I believe that Jesus is the son of God, and that He died On the cross for my sins and His resurrection from the dead gives me eternal life. I ask forgiveness of my sins, and I accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Amen.
