Spiritual Warfare Eph. 6:10-17

Spiritual Warefare
Ephesians 6:10–17 (ESV)
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.
11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.
Our battle or warfare
Is just that
SPIRITUAL
We know it’s spiritual
But we don’t fight it spiritually
And the only way
We can stand up
Against the Devil
We have to use SPIRITUAL WEAPONS
2 Corinthians 10:4 NLT
“We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments.”
2 Corinthians 10:4 ESV
“For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.”
CONTEXT of Ephesians 6
The context of Ephesian 6
Is that Paul is in prison
And most theologians believe
That while Paul was in prison
He had a Spiritual illumination
Paul wrote 4 prison epistle
And they can be remembered
By an Acronym called “ PEPC “
“P” — PHILIPPIANS
“E” — EPHESIANS
“P” — PHILEMON
“C” — COLOSSIANS
“ PEPC “
While Paul was in prison
He was chained to a guard
And while he was chained
To a guard
That guard had his
Full armor on for Battle
Paul’s illumination was
Just as this guard is fully
Guarded with armor on
The illumination was
The believer should be fully
Armored for spiritual battle or warfare
In other words
The believer should
ALWAYS be ready for battle or Warfare
The Outline of Ephesians

A. The source (God’s foreordination)—the church is a body (chap. 1)
B. The result (man’s reconciliation)—the church is a temple (chap. 2)
C. The mystery (Gentiles’ dispensation)—the church is a family (chap. 3)
II. Practical—Our Earthly Conduct (Duty) (chaps. 4–6)
A. Walking in unity (4:1–16)
B. Walking in holiness (vv. 17–32)
C. Walking in love (5:1–6)
D. Walking in light (vv. 7–14)
E. Walking in wisdom (5:15–6:9)
F. Standing in warfare (6:10–20)
G. Conclusion (vv. 21–24)
Paul is concerned
About the believer
Because of how slick the Devil is
And Paul do realize
That we are no match
For the Devil Schemes
Without being armored
With God’s spiritual armor
Genesis 3:1 KJV
“Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?”
Paul knows that you can’t
Put the Devil under your feet
You can’t rebuke the Devil
You can’t bind the Devil
Bind Job 1:7 ESV 7 “The Lord said to Satan, “From where have you come?” Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it.””
Observations of Ephesians 6
1 What comes before “ finally “?
2 Be strong is a command.
3 Our strength is not in ourselves but in the Lord.
4 Put on is a command.
5 Whole modifies armor.
6 This is God’s armor.
7 “ That “ indicates the reason why we must put on this armor
8 We are not to fight the devil but to stand against.
9 What are the schemes of the devil?
10 What does the word “wrestle” mean
11 But indicates a contrast between wrestling against flesh and blood and other stuff.
12 What are rules, authorities, cosmic powers, spiritual forces?
13 Heavenly places indicate the location of the forces we wrestle against.
14 Therefore gives the conclusion.
15 Whole armor of God is repeated.
16 That indicates once again the purpose in that we must “ WITHSTAND “
17 “ STAND “ is repeat it a third time.
And because Satan
Is the most spiritual
deceptive subtle person
Paul says
the Believer needs the armor of God
“7 things the Devil use to scheme you or do in your life”
1st Satan brings Division
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 NLT
9 “Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. 10 If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. 11 Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? 12 A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.”

Note: When the Devil got you doing (Good) you can’t get involve in church, bible study, ministry, cause I got kids
