Matthew retells more miracles of Jesus. But, Matthew wants us to see the greater significance of these events. The miracles are significant, but as we understand the greater narrative of who Jesus is and what he’s doing we see the deeper meaning: faith brings salvation, death is like sleep, faith is like seeing.
