I'm going to ask the rest of you to please open your Bibles to Colossians.
This is our last study, and the book of Colossians.
And so we have the title or we completing it will.
Actually, that's not because we're at the end, but for another reason.
But yes, we are finishing our study here on Sundays and that same time that we're finishing our Sunday studies.
I hope it's not the end of the study, because Colossians is such a rich book, and I hope that you seen that as we going through it, over these past weeks and it's good for us to keep going through it.
And encourage you to keep reading through this book and see the challenges.
And again, we've seen a lot of challenges been a challenging book as each week.
We've gone through and an example of Passage and asked a question that Applies it to our lives.
I just kind of a short review as we looked at Colossians 1.
Just the first few verses, what are we known for?
And we saw that the church there class to the Believers.
There were known for what they were known for their faith, and for their love.
What are we known for?
That's the question it if we were asked, before we known for what they say, hey, you're really know for your faith or you're known for your love.
Is that what they're known for?
What are we known for?
And against a challenge to us to be known for the right things?
If we are believers, we want to be known as Christians and and the things we should be known for his Christians is Faith and love.
As we went through from nine to fourteen Colossians chapter 1 verses 9 to 14.
We said, what do we pray for?
And we saw that Paul had a prayer.
They pray for those Believers, I believe they pray for all believers.
And what were the things that he afraid about?
What was he asking for?
This was a challenge for us to know, the will of God So that we can live lives that are pleasing to him.
That would be bearing fruit in.
Every good work that we would be growing in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior.
Jesus Christ.
That we would have the power of God so that we can have endurance and patience.
That we would be giving joyful.
Thanks remembering all that God has done for us and giving.
Thanks.
That we would really be pleasing to him.
And every good way, Play me song in Colossians 1 15 to 20 the supremacy of Christ.
We said who's the boss and and quite often in our own lives, We Want To Be Your Own Boss.
That's actually a big theme of our culture To Be Your Own Boss, but really, who's the boss, who's supposed to be the boss?
If, if Christ is Lord, is he really the boss?
Is he the boss of my life when I'm at home?
Is he the boss and how I treat my wife.
My kids is he the boss as I go out into the world and I go to work or I go to the store, is Right, interact with other people.
If he the boss Determining how I interact with people.
Or interact here at the church.
Who's the Boss?
There we saw in Colossians 1:20 1223.
Do we remember?
And again Paul reminding the Christians, Aryan colossi, how they became Christians, that it was because of Christ death on the cross that we were separated from God by our own evil, deeds and thoughts.
But yeah, God reconciled us to himself through Christ and his blood that was shed on the cross.
Do you remember the good news of the Gospel each and every day that we were safe from those things so that we might live accordingly?
Do remember our purpose Colossians 1:24 229 the purpose at and we Proclaim Christ Again, in this day and age, we want to Proclaim so many things.
So many different causes so many.
Do we have the right purpose that we Proclaim Christ?
And that we want to present everyone as mature in Christ if we're truly Christian, that's the message we need to Proclaim that needs to be our purpose.
Higher than any other purpose in this world.
You remember the golden again?
The golden Colossians 2 125.
Paul says man the goal is that man.
They would be unified and walking and laugh and cry knowing Christ again in Christ.
What did he tell us disciples.
They're going to know you're my disciples by.
Your love for one another.
A crisis, he prayed before.
He went to the cross at night before he prayed, he prayed for Unity.
Remember the goal that Christ has for assets, that we need to have to be unified to be loving one another to really understand the mystery of fries.
Because this world certainly doesn't bring Unity or love, does it?
But Christ does I didn't Colossians 2, six 2:15 to remember the anchor.
What's your anchor?
What gets you through each day?
What gets you through is Micah said those times when the Sorrows roll like to see Bella Will get you through.
What's the anchor?
We need Christ.
As our true, anchor, the one who is taking away, all the guilt and shame because he took everything that was against us, all of our sins, all of our, the good that it is, he has taken away and nail it to the Cross.
He has overcome all the power to the authorities, the spiritual forces of darkness in this world price already overcame them at the cross.
So we don't have to fret, we don't have to be discouraged but we can say no crisis, already won the victory.
He is our anchor.
Why do we do that?
Again, Paul was addressing these Believers that were craving in there saying all.
Well, if you want to be a true Christian then you got to follow all these rituals are you got to follow all these rules or just do whatever you want?
The body is going to go away anyway and he said, no, why do you do what you do?
Why do you do that?
It's not because you want to show yourself to be a Christian because you follow all these rituals.
Are you want to show everybody?
You're a good person by following all these rules.
That's not what Christianity is about.
That's not what it's about and said, what is it about?
What where's your head at it again, or had to get caught up in so many things here day in and out there?
What they were probably saying, man, set your hearts on things above set your minds on things above, and that is where our life is for all eternity.
But again, so often we get caught up in the things here, don't we?
We have our minds and our hearts set on things here on the earth and Falls like no, true Christians are going to set their hearts and Minds on things above.
I get a challenging challenging books.
He goes on from there.
He says, Mia.
What do you need to put to death?
You want to be a true Christian.
You have to recognize that.
Wow, Christ died for all these things, the sexual morality, the lower the evil desires the greed, the idolatry seeking, after other things.
That needs to be put to death.
And again it's not just a matter of follow rules.
He says no this is a heart issue.
We need to get to our hearts and say what is going on in my heart that I pursue these other things he says yeah you need to put those things from your heart to death including the anger.
