Whether its internet speeds, jumbo jets, or having your best friend on speed dial on your phone, one of the phenomena of our modern world is that everything is so fast! The problem with this however is that our expectations are also set so high. Now waiting for our food to heat for a short few minutes in the microwave becomes a tedious chore! Let alone the anxiety we feel waiting in traffic. The faster things get, the less capacity it seems we have to wait. And yet, it's a virtue worth cultivating – not only in mundane daily life, but also waiting for the ultimate thing – for Jesus to return. But what does it look like then to ‘wait well’ in this in-between-time while we wait for Jesus to come? And how do we become spiritually patient people? To finish our series exploring 2 Peter, the Apostle Peter teaches us exactly this, as he shows us how to wait well for our King. - Timothy Gray
