In John's gospel, Jesus performs his fifth sign by feeding the masses with two fish and five loaves. Christ reveals himself as the Prophet-King who takes, blesses, breaks, and gives the smallest table scraps, which satisfies the people. Through the hospitality of Jesus, we receive all we need to be filled both physically and spiritually, for he is our Passover Lamb and Bread of Life.

Jesus teaches the crowd and we looked at their response to Him.

We are often seeking Jesus for the wrong reason. There are four points I want us to see this morning; first, we will see that they are searching for Jesus, then we will see that they are seeing but not believing, then we will note that only God’s bread gives life and finally we must eat the bread to live.

Jesus message is a tough one to accept, it is the Will of God that you believe- do you accept this teaching?

Jesus came to provide for our deepest need and satisfy us forever. Believing Jesus is the most satisfying thing you can do.

Jesus is the bread of life-- we cannot live without Him. We eat the bread of adversity, and it leads us back to the bread of life. When we have a need, God hears! We eat the bread of sorrow, as we mourn our sin and God removes the idols from our lives... leading us back to the bread of life. With this bread, we will never hunger or thirst again! It brings healing, protection, and eternal love. We have direct communication with the bread of life through the Word!

When we follow Jesus... 1. He will stretch our faith (vs. 1-7). 2. He will show us great things (vs. 8-11). 3. He will supply us (vs. 11-13).

1. We must not back away from Jesus. 2. We must not betray Jesus. 3. We must believe in Jesus.

Eternal life comes: 1. from the Bread of Life. 2. through our belief in God. 3. from the boundless power of God. 4. from the unbreakable promises of God.

How does He do it? 1. He helps us pursue the right priorities (vs. 25-26). 2. He measures our motives (vs. 26). 3. He corrects our spiritual confusion (vs. 27-28). 4. He leads us to life (vs. 27-29).

1. To remember the Lord (vs. 23-25). -Remember that Jesus took the punishment we deserved. -Remember the price Jesus paid. -Remember the power He displayed. 2. To reveal the Lord (vs. 26). 3. To review our lives (vs. 27-28). 4. To renew our lives (vs. 29-32).

In this Scripture God gives us timeless truth: 1. About our Leader (vs. 17-19). 2. About Christian life (vs. 20). 3. About being lost (vs. 14-16, 21-25). 4. About God's love (vs. 26-28). 5. About eternal life (vs. 29).
