There is far more to Pentecost than meets the eye--or the ear. As we remember, one of the "presents" the Lord gave to the church on her birthday was the Holy Spirit poured out on the Lord's disciples. "They spoke in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance." A birthday celebration--but vastly more important is what God has to say to the church of Jesus regarding spiritual warfare. Exactly how does a "birthday party" and spiritual warfare play themselves out? Come with the Grace United crew as we discover the Lord's marching orders for his church in waging true spiritual warfare.

Jesus is not surprised as we are. His humble obedience to the Father, even to the point of death, becomes for us a guiding principle as we follow Jesus. We often fail. He knows. He knew from the beginning. Still He has committed Himself to us His disciples. We have been left with two wonderful traditions by which we proclaim the good news of Jesus' Kingdom. The church of Jesus has continued in these two practices since her beginning and shall until our King returns. Make no mistake, it may look like He is failing at times. He is not. His Kingdom comes. Let us be those who watch and wait and learn to trust Him. These thoughts were shared by Jason Stuart Percy at Refuge TLH in Tallahassee, FL on Sunday, October 17, 2021.

FRIDAY – THIRD WEEK OF EASTER Jesus promised / that he would give us his flesh to eat. This is very difficult to understand and even offensive, especially to Jesus. Today’s gospel is one of the most “Catholic” passages in the bible. It is a common bond but it can also cause division. The message of today’s gospel is complex and it produced serious problems for followers of Jesus; problems that still exist today. If you remember from last week’s gospel, “the bread…
