We begin a new series on the book of Nehemiah. In this first week, we cover how to develop the discernment needed to make God-honoring decisions. God is active even when we cannot see Him. Therefore, we can make God-honoring decisions after prayer without fear or uncertainty. We can then rest in God even when they can't see or feel His working. We have to trust God when the process feels uncertain.

In the series finale, we address the ending of Nehemiah and how his story finds fulfillment in Jesus centuries later. It is never too late to turn a life around. There is hope right where you are today. Never give up. There is a new beginning in Jesus.

The story of the the Bible is the story of a people in exile. We too find ourselves in a place that doesn't always fell the way home is supposed to feel. Through this sermon, I want to instill in you a longing for your future Home and an appreciation for your current home. This sermon will teach you how to begin living the way of the exile this week.

We chart a Biblical theology of thankfulness, providing a practical, easy-to-apply definition for thankfulness. We can feel the abundant goodness of God through His Creation. But then we are expected to share that goodness with others. This is how we live a life of active thankfulness.

Genesis 1 is the story of God's bringing order into a world of chaos. But the story doesn't end when the chapter does. God gave humans the responsibility to carry on His work of spreading order into chaos.
