The call to follow Christ is to forsake our idols and those things where we might seek to place our trust.

Christ calls us to follow him and give our lives for the sake of his glory.

"I swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth . . ." is how one introduces his or her testimony in a court of law. It is his or witness to the truth as they saw it. When a testimony is given, what comes out sometimes costs the witness his or her life. What was the testimony of Jesus. He said, "For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world." What was this purpose? What was his testimony? And what did it cost him to declare it? We will truly trust a person only when we get to know him or her. It is the same with God, we can trust Him only when we know who He is, and only when we are able to comprehend His divine attributes. When Jesus lived here on earth he chose twelve men to be His disciples. A closer look at their lives will help us understand why they decided to follow Jesus.
