"They spoke in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance." A birthday celebration--but vastly more important is what God has to say to the church of Jesus regarding spiritual warfare. Exactly how does a "birthday party" and spiritual warfare play themselves out? In Genesis 15 God promises Abraham (and Sarah by association) that he would have a child and more descendents than stars in the sky. However, ten years later when Sarah still hadn't become pregnant she took matters into her own hands. She gave her slave, Hagar, to Abraham to bear him a child. Which Hagar did. But that action created a lot of strive and conflict between Sarah and Hagar, and Sarah and Abraham. We'll talk about patience and trust, and what happens when we try and accomplish the promises of God by our own timetables and hands.

It's a story of "Miracle Max", "Mary Make it Happen", "Big Red", and "Little Des". What kind of Bible story is this? One in which God is the hero. Through this family we can see His faithfulness, His sovereignty, His glory, His grace. Where is this family found in Scripture? What legacy did they leave behind? Join the Grace United Crew as we continue to tell the story of Isaac.

Honor. Shame. These words carry a lot of weight. Regardless of time. Regardless of culture. In Israel, the Torah is to be the "sourcebook" to discover what actions are to bring honor to the Lord and to his people. The other side of the coin is what behaviors would bring shame, not only to the Lord but his people as well. Moses speaks of 4 shameful things in Deuteronomy 25. Strange things! What do these things mean in our day, to our culture as followers of Christ? Come with the Grace United crew as we discover what shame and honor are about.
