What is your faith constructed on? Is it built on the word of God, or is it based on the faith you have constructed for yourself?
Matthew - Jesus is the Subject

Jesus sums up the body of his sermon on the mount by saying, "Do to others as you would have them do to you." In light of all that has gone before, Jesus followers can only hope to make progress towards this high standard through prayer. And so Jesus reminds us of what sort of heavenly Father we have: a good one who delights to give good gifts to his children.

Don't Judge! This is a verse often quoted to Christians by others who want to stop Christians from making judgments about something they value. Is this the proper way to understand these words of Jesus? In what circumstances should a Christian proclaim judgment?

Jesus is very confident in the sovereignty of God. He is not afraid of the misunderstandings of others or of their lack of trust. He is sure in Himself and in the Work of the Father. God has promised rivers of flowing or living water flowing out of our inmost being... He didn't leave us to wonder what that means. God gives Himself, He gives His Spirit to those who trust in Him. God is present with us always, even to teh end of the age. Don't be afraid, dear Saint. God is not wondering what is happening as you are. He is not confused. He doesn't feel as though things are out of control. You might feel this way. He does not. God reigns on His throne as Sovereign over all of His creation. I would do well to trust Him. LORD, increase our faith. These thoughts shared by Jason Stuart Precy at Refuge TLH in Tallahassee, FL on Sunday, January 2, 2022.
John 2021-2022

We humans are all dead in our trespasses and sins. We have no life in us. It is the effectual call of Jesus, the giver and sustainer of life, that revives and enables us to trust Him. He cares not about the way of our traditions, especially those we use to put ourselves above others and to neglect our acts of service and charity (love) to our neighbor. We are those who excuse ourselves from obedience for myriads of reasons, all of which we excuse in ourselves and condemn in others. What hypocrites we are! True life, eternal life, is in the Father and in the Son, Jesus. He gives life to whomever He wills. Let us be those who diligently search the sscriptures, that we might know God as He reveals Himself through the prophets and apostles. But... let us not stop with having knowledge... let us go on to commune with Jesus, let us respond to Him, let us come to Him... and find life. These thoughts were shared by Jason Stuart Percy at Refuge TLH in Tallahasee, FL on Sunday, December 5, 2021
Matthew 2019-2020
Jason Stuart Percy • Refuge TLH • Sermon • • 127 views • 1:15:56
We excercise judgement about many things every day. Jesus asks us to be wise in judgement and not to simply judge the outside or cursory things. We need wisdom and we need to be asking, seeking, and knocking that we might know how to treat others the way we want to be treated. It is possible to be decieved and so good judgement is of vital importance seeing that Jesus' way is narrow and there are few who find it. LORD, give us wisdom. Help us to be merciful to others. Help us to love each other enough to hold each other accountable with mercy and grace and love. Recorded at Refuge TLH on Sunday, August 5, 2019.

Following Jesus and worshipping the true God is profoundly different than the world's practices and priorities. We serve a God who is better, higher, more pure and glorious than the things the world pursues. As Christians, we are called to point people to God, to help them "look up" to God's holy mountain. There, God serves as a judge, but a different sort of judge. He is a judge who loves us and offers a way out of our mess. As the world around us swirls out of control and people are desperate in their disappointment and wrecked dreams, we can share the answers we have found in God. We preach a message of peace, not war. We can share the peace that we have found, bringing it from God above down into the valley.

1-3 : How much longer? 4-5 : Job’s sin is his own, not theirs. 7 : No one is listening! (Vs. 23-24) 8-22 : Job appears to be bitter, but only if you don’t read the rest of the chapter. v.8 : It's interesting that Satan had complained that God had “walled in” Job and his family so that they were protected…

The Jesus Questions
Pastor Nick • Oak Harbor Christian Reformed Church • Sermon • • 63 views
There are moments in our walk with Jesus, where his love pushes back on our posturing. His love compels us to see the sins of others in light of our own- to use a measure that we want God to measure us with. Jesus would teach and embody the kingdom concept that grace comes first, then repentance.
Sermon on the Mount

'Judge not, that you be not judged' is often used as a sort of trump card to prohibit anyone from doing anything other than embracing an individuals choices. It has become a heart cry by Christians and non-Christians alike to keep people from judging in any way; however, Jesus did not mean never judge; but rather, judge rightly. In today's sermon from Matthew 7:1-6 we look at what Jesus did and didn't mean in these verses and how a Christian should use judgment and discernment.

October 13 2019 Real Forgiveness Pastor Brent shares how the world just doesn't understand followers of Jesus showing real forgiveness. How the world struggles immensely with compassion, mercy and love. As seen in much of the media the hate for those who show forgiveness and compassion we see God still using His followers to show the world and media how real forgiveness and compassion change people.
