1 Sam 24:1-22.

Human tragedies are not always divine punishments. There are consequences for every action, but God is not singling sinners out to punish them today. We are all guilty before God and will face judgment one day. We will parish unless we repent of our sins and turn to God. In Christ, we can live the kind of lives that produce good fruit for God.

We explore the scriptures call to seek justice.

Jesus tells us to turn the other cheek but that's not fair.

God’s people longed for justice. They are given the news they longed for: The Lord will come. Then they are given the news they didn’t expect: The Lord will come to put you on trial. We have been given the news we need: We are justified by faith.

Big Idea: Trust the Lord to deal with injustice and praise Him when He does. 1. Pray to the God of salvation 2. Pray against the schemes of the wicked 3. Pray for those who suffer without cause 4. Pray that God would receive all the glory for his justice

In our series of learning how Jesus is a Global God, we read in the Bible about African leaders seeking the God of Israel. In both accounts, these foreign dignitaries heard and received joyfully the Truth from the One True God. They continue to stand as a testimony of the desire of God for all men to come to Him through Jesus, the Messiah.

God sees the evil that is done, and will deal with it. God rescues the righteous person who turns to Him in faith. 2 Peter 2:4-10

Jesus teaches against the abuses of Old Testament laws designed for the courts, and designed to limit retaliatory sentencing. But Jesus goes far beyond stopping the abuses. He says that those who follow him are to demonstrate over-the-top kindness and generosity towards everyone, even those who might be seeking to take you to court. Such a lifestyle can be attained by Christians as we see the over-the-top kindness and generosity of Jesus to us.

Using John in our Evangelism

Psalm 50 David gives guidance to our interactions with those who have harmed us, those you are two faced in their beliefs, and the wicked. We are reminded not to forget they we have been warned and if you choose obedience you are rewarded eternally, but if you choose disobedience you are eternally separated from God.

Jesus delivers a man from a legion of demons, showing his power. The demons know one day Jesus will judge and destroy them - but this time they are cast into a herd of pigs. But the townspeople are more concerned for the pigs than the people!

God is good, God is just, and God is mercyful even when it looks like evil people are winning.
