Anyone remember "prayer meetings"? Why are those so rare today? Do we ask for prayer very much during the "invitation"? This lesson has Luke 18:1-14 as its primary text, where Jesus teaches two parables about prayer.

Defying the cultural, religious and spiritual norms of the day, a "sinful woman" entered into Simon the Pharisee's home while he dined with Jesus and began to wash Jesus' feet with her tears, wipe them with her hair and anoint them with perfume. While Simon was shocked by this and more than a little upset, Jesus used it as a lesson to teach Simon about how we should all act when we're in the presence of a God who forgives us our sins.

Jesus rescues us from anger. There will be nothing in His Kingdom which offends. The only way to enter His Kingdom is by believing Him, by believing He died for your sin, that He was buried, and that He has been raised from the dead. This means that He is alive right now and He will come to you and rescue you from both the final penalty for your sin, being outside of His Eternal Kingdom in the lake of fire, and from the power of sin in our hearts right now! Jesus is alive and comes to those who trust Him by His Holy Spirit. He can rescue you from anger. He is able to change the world by rescuing people from anger. Ask Him to rescue you from anger. Recorded at Refuge TLH on Sunday, June 16, 2019.

Paul's letter the the Ephesians is absolutely magnifcent! The Lord gave him amazing insight into the redemption heart of God. And revealed to the apostle the mystery that was hidden for ages: Christ broke down the dividing wall the separated Jew (God's people) from Gentile and made both Jews and Gentiles one in Christ. What was that dividing wall and how did Christ break it? Christ also abolished the law of commandments expressed in ordinances. What is that all about? Come with the Grace United crew as we take a deep dive into the riches of God's grace toward both Jew and Gentile in Christ.

Traditions easily become used as a way to enforce prejudice. Especially after several generations of practice. We can forget to see the needs and the people around us and obey teh command to love them because we are so busy trying to keep our traditions. People are more important than our man-made traditions. Showing mercy is better than not healing on the Sabbath. While we struggle to understand and believe who Jesus really is, the demonic realm is absolutely sure of Him. And they tremble. Too bad we don't. Frequently the world sees Jesus and His followers as those who are out of their minds because spiritually things must be discerned by God's Spirit. His Spirit is in those who believe Him. The Jewish leaders blasphemed God's Spirit by attributing Jesus' works to the power of Satan. Even so, Jesus has come and is making a new family of all those who believe, both Jew and Gentile. Shared by Jason Stuart Percy at Refuge Christian Fellowship Tallahassee on Sunday, February 9, 2020.

I don’t know anyone who likes to receive negative feedback. Sometimes we may need correction but that doesn’t mean we will ever like it. I am pretty sure that even people who work in the “complaint department” don’t like to hear people complain. . . even when the complaints are justified. In our text…
Conversations with Jesus
What is the foundation of your religion? God's Word must not be superseded by traditions or any rules of man. God's demands from us a pure heart, not a polluted heart. A polluted heart will result in unrighteous behaviors and speech.

I’m sure you have heard the saying attributed to Philosopher George Santayana, “Those who do not learn from the past are destined to repeat it.” I believe this proverb. We can learn from the mistakes of others or we can insist on making those same mistakes ourselves (sometimes, over and over). What we…
