Psalm 63:1-8 David knew God was his ulitmate sourceof help. God provides the richest of foods, the waters that quench and the greatest protection. We need to seek god as David did inteh desert. Look to him and you will be provided with all you need, including abundant peace and a song that fulfills.

Luke 2:21-38 Jesus' coming had been prophecied for thousands of years. Simeon who had been waiting devoutly for Jesus' arrival finally meets him, he states he can now depart in peace. Don't you want that peace? Are you seeking Jesus? Are you watching for his return? (Another prophecy that has existed for thousands of years.)

Matthew 2:1-16 There are two reactions to Jesus. Are you like the Wise Men and seek Jesus? Or, are you like Herod and reject him? What do you choose? Merry CHRISTmas!

What has you Distracted for focusing on the word/work of the Lord.

1. Seek God (vs. 3) 2. Sacrifice to God (vs. 4) 3. Be Satisfied in God (vs. 5)

Did Christ die to save only some or did His death make salvation possible for all? Are we predestined to be either saved or lost?

What are we to do with the Scriptures that talk about seeing and hearing Jesus? Are you seeing and hearing Jesus at all? Do you want to? Do you want your relationship with Jesus to be more intimate? How can you experience Jesus in such a tangible way? What would that look like? By taking a deeper look at Jesus' words about entering the Kingdom of God as a child, we will see the very heart of God. We will also find that not only did Jesus exemplify the same when He walked on the earth, but that is the way to draw close to His presence everyday.

The requirements of prayer are to demonstrate humility, desire His presence and depart from wickedness.

God partners with His children, with those people who actively trust Him, working in the world in various ways. We have the privilege of asking God to work for those around us and of obeying Him in being the answer to many of those prayers. Jesus is LORD over all, even the demons must obey His commands and none are able to overcome His strength. We are always in an evil generation; we frequently demand signs of Jesus, trying to force Him to prove Himself. His death, burial, and resurrection give witness to His power and truth and provide for us hope that lasts beyond our present circumstances. We excercise judgement about many things every day. Jesus asks us to be wise in judgement and not to simply judge the outside or cursory things. We need wisdom and we need to be asking, seeking, and knocking that we might know how to treat others the way we want to be treated. It is possible to be decieved and so good judgement is of vital importance seeing that Jesus' way is narrow and there are few who find it. LORD, give us wisdom. Help us to be merciful to others. In Jesus’ encounter with Zacchaeus, we get a capsule summary of the gospel message. Jesus seeks the lost, sees them and saves them.

Advent teaches us about learning to search like you’re gonna find what you’re looking for. Seeking (in the Bible) is the sure-fire way to find God, and while some of us are incredibly resistant to look, he promises that is where we will find him. In the kingdom of God, it isn’t about the kind of search you’re on- but if your search leads you to the incarnated love of God- to incarnating the love of God in palpable acts of waiting and searching for him.

As we make resolutions for 2022, this message reminds us to seek First the kingdom of God.

Jesus tells 3 stories about loss. They tell us about why Jesus came. All 3 stories have the same theme. All 3 have the same pattern: something lost, is sought, found & rejoiced. All 3 represent the same people: Lost sheep, coin, son = sinner; Searching shepherd, woman, father = God

It seems the world has lost its way, mostly as a result of bad de- cision making. What hinders people from making better and wis- er decisions?

Life can be full of problems and burdens that we must endure. We are also asked to carry the burdens of others in the midst of our own. How can we truly bear the burdens that are thrown at us. Let’s look at that subject today.
