Matthew 2019-2020

God always keeps His Word. He does everything He says He'll do. Those conforming to His Kingdom are learning to keep our Word. We shouldn't have to make promises because we ought to be known as those who do what we say we'll do. With men, this is impossible. But with God, all things are possible. He has removed our sin. He has purchased us for Himself and forgiven us and has promised us an unending life in His presence, though we deserve none of these things. May we be those who trust Him. He has proven that He is faithful and true. Recorded at Refuge TLH on Sunday, July 7, 2019.
Mark 2020-2021

The human condition is bleak. Though many attempt to trumpet the inherent goodness of humanity, the reality of our own relationships, and of the relationships of communities, cities, states, and nations, proves quite the opposite. All of the evil things of the world have flowed out of the hearts of humans. Cleaning up the outside of lives makes us only hypocrites, still in bondage the base desires of our bodies. Jesus' Kiingdom is about God's rule within the lives of those who trust Him. God comes to reside within us. He has promised to give us new lives, eternal life, and new hearts. Hearts of flesh rather than hardened hearts of stone. We ought to continue to pursue Him, to trust Him. Keep on praying, saints! He is able to open deaf ears and make the truth plain. Sometimes, the answer to physical problems may be something spiritual. Shared by Jason Stuart Percy at Refuge Christian Fellowship Tallahassee on Sunday, March 8, 2020.

Neither Barren, Nor Unfruitful
Kendal Rasnake • West Point Road Church of Christ • Sermon • • 129 views • 35:19
The series of lessons called Neither Barren, Nor Unfruitful will look at things we should lay aside from 1 Peter 2:1-2, and things we should take on from 2 Peter 1:5-8, in order that we should be neither barren, nor unfruitful for our Master. This lesson looks at the idea of laying aside malice, and getting our mind right.

Someone has appropriately written, Soft words sung in a lullaby will put a babe to sleep. Excited words will stir a mob to violence. Eloquent words will send armies marching into the face of death. Encouraging words will fan to flame the genius of a Rembrandt or a Lincoln. Powerful words will mold the…

One of the most difficult things to do in life is to control what you say. We do a good job for a while but then in one weak moment and we can do irreparable damage. Words hurt and heal, they go deep into our hearts and minds. The old saying is not true that “sticks and stones can break our bones but…

At some point most of us have known someone who has been afflicted by cancer. Cancer is a disease that is deadly if left untreated, but it often attacks the body behind the scenes, where you don’t notice until it’s too late. It’s not uncommon to hear someone who is diagnosed with cancer say the words,…

Imagine that you had the chance to talk to someone from 200 years ago about flying in an airplane. Suppose you wanted to convince them to get inside this metal box that weighs nearly a half-million pounds and carries more than 50,000 gallons of highly flammable fuel and fly up in the sky at nearly the…

President Calvin Coolidge was nicknamed “Silent Cal” because he was a man of few words. When he was elected President of the State Senate in 1914 he delivered the shortest inaugural on record. It was ten sentences long! When he was re-elected without opposition he broke that record. His inaugural was…

A wise saying is something that paints the truth with a clarity that cannot be missed but is also stated with a freshness that grabs our attention. There are books and websites devoted to collections of wise sayings. Listen to a few. The greatest use of a life is to spend it for something that will outlast…

The old joke (with many variations) talks about how much greater work in the church would be if it wasn’t for the people! I suspect, no matter what your job there are days when you might say the same thing. One of the greatest stressors in our lives is our dealings with others. The Bible is clear: if…
