As we preach the cross of Christ, may we remember to include the Christ of the cross.

This sermon is a part of the Eastside Series which is among the earliest sermons I prepared and preached at Eastside Baptist Church in Blacksburg, SC

We should read reverently, putting off our shoes from our feet, as Moses did at the burning bush, for if there be holy ground anywhere in Scripture, it is in this Psalm.

As we begin our walk through the book of Ruth, this sermon looks at the decisions of the three women in the first chapter and how they mirror our own lives today.

1. God's love stretches to the widest span. 2. God's love gave us the greatest gift. 3. God's love suffered the greatest sacrifice. 4. God's love calls for the greatest confidence. 5. God's love results in the greatest rescue.

1. Trust Jesus with elusive things (vs. 9-11). 2. Trust Jesus with earthly things (vs. 12). 3. Trust Jesus with eternal things (vs. 12-15).

Because: 1. He is the Christ (vs. 13-16). 2. This truth comes from God the Father (vs. 17). 3. Jesus is confident about His work (vs. 18). 4. Jesus has given us the keys to Heaven (vs. 19). 5. Jesus died on the cross for us (vs. 20-21). 6. The good news about Jesus is clear (vs. 21-23).

Always trust in the goodness of God! 1. Because He hates injustice. 2. Because He shares in our sorrows. 3. Because He cares about our rest. 4. Because He cares about our other needs too.

This Easter God wants to give you... 1. Truth worth trusting (vs. 5-6). 2. A new life worth living (vs. 6-8). 3. The Lord worth loving (vs. 9). 4. The story worth sharing (vs. 7, 10). 5. The future worth finding (vs. 7, 10).
