John 2021-2022
Jason Stuart Percy • Refuge TLH • Sermon • • 32 views • 1:15:07
Jesus is the only way to God. Jesus promised His disciples He would not leave them orphans. He promised the Holy Spirit owuld come too them and He encouraged them to remain attached to Him that they would bear much fruit. This fruit bearing would bring glory to God. Jesus promised peace unlike anything they would receive from the unbelieving world. Jesus promised the world would hate them just as the world hated Him. These truths delivered just before Jesus left the disciples would become strength and encouragement and joy to help them endure the difficulty they would face with Him gone. Jesus is always enough for us. Let us move no further. Let us remain with Him. Abide in Him. Abide in His words. These thoughts shared by Jason Stuart Percy at Refuge TLH in Tallahassee, FL on Sunday, February 20, 2022.

As Christians called to be soldiers for Christ, what can we learn from these men of valor? In preparation for the message, meditate on 2 Timothy 2:3-4.

A Bit of Commentary John 15:2 - “he prunes” - This thing is necessary for real trees; in order for their branches to bear more fruit, they must be pruned or stripped of imperfections. Today’s gospel builds upon the message we heard last Sunday about the vine and the branches. This week, we continue to develop the concept of “remaining” in Jesus, but now we replace the vineyard analogy with language that speaks of friendship. As branches on the Vine, we take comfort knowing the inexhaustible…
