We are completely blessed because of what the Word of God says. Don't let depression keep you in the gutter of life, look to Jesus.

In Luke 6, Jesus established three new spiritual entities. He established a new way of understanding Sabbath, a new way of looking at a person's identity and worth, and a new way of understanding what it means to live a blessed life.

The beginning of Jesus' Sermon on the Mount would have been a great encouragement to an oppressed people group who were not at the center of Roman Empire Life. I'm afraid we're too close to the empire to find His Words as comforting. Where should we go from here? LORD humble us to see how we might love our neighbors. This message was for the people, not to the empire. Jesus message reminds us of the Blessed and Cursed pronouncements of Israel as they were about to conquer the promised land. Responding to a world of chaos

[The last part of this recording was lost. Our apologies]. As Jesus commences "The Sermon on the Mount" he speaks to his followers: those who have repented and turned their lives towards him. Now he begins explaining what life in the kingdom of heaven (following him) is like. He explains how his followers should be, not so they can enter heaven, but because they already have. Christians follow Jesus for God's glory for the good of others.

When we live our lives acording to the teachings of Jesus, and stand for what’s right, don’t expect to be received by the world.

God came restore us with grace, comfort, and fullness. Job was blessed when he endured. In Genesis 50:20 Joseph says, "But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive. Blessed are the righteous who are persecuted

If Jesus' Kingdom has the same end goals, motivations, and methods as every other Kingdom of the World, it is useless. Jesus' Kingdom isn't like ANY other Kingdom. And His Kingdom goes on forever, won't you join Him? Trust that Jesus, God in a human body, died on the cross for your sins, believe that He was buried, and that He has now been raised from the dead and He will rescue you! Call on Him to be saved from this messed up world, from your messed up mind, messed up life! He will come to you, if you'll trust in Him and stop trusting in yourself, trying to be your own god, and pushing His Way, and His Kingdom aside. God has made this Jesus, both LORD and Messiah! Psalm 1:1-3 In Psalm 1 God lays out three things to avoid in our spiritually lives. If we follow the Word of God in avoiding these three things God's Word also gives us three blessings that will make our spiritual lives prosperous.

God said He would build His church. This lesson continues reviewing the Beatitudes from Matthew 5 as they relate to the church. What do we need to be like according to the Beatitudes?

Don't be peace seekers, but instead peacemakers. Matthew 5:9

God is able to provide precisely what we need when we need it. We may not trust Him to do so, but He is fully capable, and we find rest to the degree we learn to trust in His promises. Jesus, God's Prophet to Israel, pronounced judgement against those who rejected Him. If we refuse Him, we remain under condemnation. While we know what is right, we fail to live loving Him and loving others. He came to save sinners. After trusting Him and being brought into His Kingdom by the gift of His righteousness and grace, we have the privilege of serving and loving those who are rejected and outcasts and even our enemies. We have the privilege of laying our lives down for anyone; for everyone. We are neighbor to anyone we are acting in love toward. While in the bleakest of circumstances one might not feel blessed, we are beyond all imagination for God created this world out of love and sent His Son Jesus to atone for our sins thus providing the means of us forever being adopted into His family!
