Luke 4:31-44
Each one of us, in our lives, will experience a day of visitation. A time when God, through various means, will call or direct us to what He has for us to do. The question then is, how will we respond in that day of visitation? In this passage from Luke we will explore the four ways in which people respond to that visiting or calling of God.

We excercise judgement about many things every day. Jesus asks us to be wise in judgement and not to simply judge the outside or cursory things. We need wisdom and we need to be asking, seeking, and knocking that we might know how to treat others the way we want to be treated. It is possible to be decieved and so good judgement is of vital importance seeing that Jesus' way is narrow and there are few who find it. LORD, give us wisdom. Help us to be merciful to others. Help us to love each other enough to hold each other accountable with mercy and grace and love. Recorded at Refuge TLH on Sunday, August 5, 2019.

By Pastor Glenn Pease Martin Luther spent a major portion of his life looking for a God who liked him. He was devoutly religious from his childhood, but religion was more a burden than a blessing, for his God was not his friend. He knew God hated sin and demanded perfection and so he was obsessed with…

Forever Friends (1 Samuel 18-20; 23; 31) What is a friend? Rollo May indicates that most people make 500 to 2,500 acquaintances each year, but have fewer than seven personal friends. A man and his dog were walking along a road. The man was enjoying the scenery, when he remembered that he was dead. He recalled dying, and also that the dog walking beside him had been dead for years. He wondered where the road was leading them. After a while, they came to a high, white stone wall along…
