What did Mary and Martha experience during the dying of their brother, Lazarus? What emotions or thougths did the sisters experience the four days Jesus did not come while Lazarus was in the tomb? What can we learn from those four days when we face darkness and hopelessness in our lives? Take a new look at the account of Lazarus being raised to life by the word of Jesus the Messiah. Believe!

When Jesus and the disciples came to Mary and Martha's house for dinner, we see that the sisters had a different approach to being with Jesus. And in the dinner we find a question for ourselves: how often do we get caught up in what we have to do FOR Jesus, and forget to simply come and BE WITH Jesus?

We are quick to judge other believers regarding our own conscience issues. We shouldn't. Jesus teaches us to love and serve and sets us free to do that by removing the dear of death. Jesus has overcome death. We who follow Jesus have the joyful freedom to lay our lives down for others and to think about their benefit. Sermon: Rise UP!! Pt. 2. John 11:17-27 God comforts those who mourn.

God is able to provide precisely what we need when we need it. We may not trust Him to do so, but He is fully capable, and we find rest to the degree we learn to trust in His promises. Jesus, God's Prophet to Israel, pronounced judgement against those who rejected Him. If we refuse Him, we remain under condemnation. While we know what is right, we fail to live loving Him and loving others. He came to save sinners. After trusting Him and being brought into His Kingdom by the gift of His righteousness and grace, we have the privilege of serving and loving those who are rejected and outcasts and even our enemies. We have the privilege of laying our lives down for anyone; for everyone. We are neighbor to anyone we are acting in love toward. 'Anyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?, ' Jesus asked. Jesus teaches us that the dead aren't actually dead. They may have left their bodies, but they aren't dead. He restored Lazarus as evidence of this fact. We must decide in whom we will place our trust. We live in a world with many who only trust what they've experienced with their own senses. Jesus has asked us to believe Him, not to deny the experiences of our senses and their reality, rather to acknowledge that our senses may not be receptive of all that exists. There is more and we are challenged to believe the Word of the One who knows and promises that there is more. In Lazarus' resurrection, Jesus shows that those whose bodies have died are themselves not dead. There is a coming resurrection, some will be raised to eternal life and joy and others to eternal contempt and shame. A fresh look at the story of Mary and Martha and our attitudes about service.

Jesus waits to raise Lazarus from the dead so people can see God’s power and glory.

1. Jesus wants us to be confident in Him (John 12:1-2). 2. Jesus wants us to be committed to Him (John 12:2-5, 9-11). 3. Jesus wants to take care of us (John 12:4-8). 4. Jesus wants to commend us (Matthew 26:7-13).

How can we get the help we need in the hard times of life? 1. Go to God (vs. 17-20). 2. Listen to the Lord (vs. 21-26). 3. Rely on the Lord's resurrection (vs. 26-27).

The story of Lazarus shows us how: 1. Jesus comes and calls us closer to Him (vs. 27-32). 2. Jesus hurts when we hurt (vs. 32-38). 3. Jesus delivers us from doubt (vs. 37-43). 4. Jesus defeats our death (43-44).

1. More souls were saved (vs. 43-45). 2. The unbelieving leaders were still lost (vs. 46-50, 53). 3. Christ is in control (vs. 48-57).

Death has been referred to as the great equalizer. No matter what our station in life, death is the one thing which comes to all of us in the end. As Christians, we are not immune to physical death. In today's message, Pastor Dean tells us how Jesus ministered to three members of a family who faced death in three different ways.
