2 Corinthians 5:1-15 1 For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven, 3 if indeed, having been clothed,…
James
Ray Arnett • Fellowship Baptist Church • Sermon • • 144 views • 20:32
James moves from warning the unsaved rich that God’s judgement is coming and from a reminder to the believers to be patient since that judgement may not come as fast as we would prefer to: a call to believers to be careful about their reactions as well. James has given them a clear example of waiting…

Matthew - Jesus is the Subject
Ben Allen • East Coast Anglican • Sermon • • 11 views • 26:20
Jesus teaches against the abuse of oaths and vows in people's attempts to not have to do what they say. Yet, says Jesus, his followers should simply do what they say and not do what they say they won't. There should be no attempts made to get around what you've said. The faithfulness demanded of Christians points us to the perfect faithfulness of Christ to deal with the guilt and sin of our unfaithful ways.

Matthew 2019-2020
Jason Stuart Percy • Refuge TLH • Sermon • • 24 views • 1:00:20
God always keeps His Word. He does everything He says He'll do. Those conforming to His Kingdom are learning to keep our Word. We shouldn't have to make promises because we ought to be known as those who do what we say we'll do. With men, this is impossible. But with God, all things are possible. He has removed our sin. He has purchased us for Himself and forgiven us and has promised us an unending life in His presence, though we deserve none of these things. May we be those who trust Him. He has proven that He is faithful and true. Recorded at Refuge TLH on Sunday, July 7, 2019.

We suffer in our society from a crisis of trust. We find it hard to believe anyone fully. Politicians lie to us by distorting figures and making promises they know they can’t deliver. We read touching stories in the news that are actually fabricated; There was a stretch earlier this year when NBC News…

The Sermon on the Mount
Dr. Mark A. Barber • Sermon • • 19 views
This passage is another demonstration of the problem with the teaching of the Scribes and Pharisees. As we have noticed throughout the study, the failure of the Pharisees was more than a failure to practice what they preached. The problem is that they were trying to practice the wrong preaching. On the…

Theme: Jesus’ laws of harmony Let us pray. Most holy, Lord God, we are broken people, inspired by the teachings of your son; so that we may one day be what you want us to be – in harmony with each other and in creation, made possible through the one to whom we pray, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen. (Introduce…

Matthew 5:33 – 37 Our Gospel passage this morning contains some very challenging commandments from Jesus. They are challenging because they go against the way that humans like to work. We are people of the loop hole, constantly looking for ways to get what we want while appearing to adhere strictly to…
