We often find God's words and actions don't make sense. They are illogical and counterintuitive. In this scripture passage Peter encounter a series of counterintuitive statements made by Jesus and felt embarrassed. Jesus said it was because he did not set his mind on the "divine things," but on "human things." Then, how do we develop the divine mindset so that our thoughts and actions will be aligned with Christ? The sermon wrestles with ways to develop divine mindset in light of this passage (Mark 8:27-38). Enjoy and feel free to discuss with me and give me your comments.
Grace and peace!

The Barna group has surveys that reveal Christians have an alarming disinterest in pursuing spiritual growth. One deduction is that we can grow spiritually if we get back to a classic biblical understanding of confessing our sins. Why is there a stigma to do this with our brothers and sisters? This sermon is part 1 of 2 sermons tacking confeesion of sin as individual and church growth.

Babies are more concerned with serving self than serving others, are more prone to argue than act, and tend to look to people rather than the Lord for their needs (real or percieved) to be met. Don’t be a baby. It’s time to grow up. Are ye…yet carnal?

The Gospel According to Moses
Pastor Glenn • Grace United Family Church • Sermon • • 25 views • 41:35
When you pass away, what would you want on your headstone at the cemetery? How would you want your obituary to read? At your funeral, what would you desire the minister to say in your eulogy? Now, what you want the Lord to say in your eulogy? What do you think he will say? When it comes to Moses, we don't have to guess. It's all right there in God's word. Some of his statements about his servant might surprise you. But is there anything we can learn about the Lord's character and about Moses himself through the story surrounding his death? Plenty, actually. Come with the Grace United crew as we explore what the Lord has to say about his servant, Moses in the moments surrounding his death.
The Gospel According to Moses

A powerful song was recorded and sung a number of years ago by Steve Green and contains these word: "God and God alone is fit to take the universe's throne. Let everything that lives reserve its truest praise for God and God alone." The Grace United crew deals with this very thing in Deuteronomy 6.1-9. Moses reminds the people, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart . . ." Start 2022 off right, giving a listen so you reserve your truest praise for God and God alone.

The goal of this sermon is to spur you on and hopefully with the Spirit’s conviction have you be ignited with passion to not just exist in His kingdom but to be lifted up, dance, leap, and praise God with every fiber of your being with the assurance that whom God has enabled (Ephesians 2:10) truly can do unimaginable and glorious things that honors the Father in heaven (Matthew 5:15-16)!

The focus of verses 11 to 16 is church maturity. Paul keeps returning to this theme. This maturity is corporate, and it is closely connected to church unity. In a similar way, the Word is at the core of the church’s maturity and unity. The point of these verses is that we must aspire toward maturity as a church. How do we do this?

President Calvin Coolidge was nicknamed “Silent Cal” because he was a man of few words. When he was elected President of the State Senate in 1914 he delivered the shortest inaugural on record.
