Your walk—your life—matters. Paul says, Walk worthy. Let your life manifest that you belong to the King of kings. Ask yourself, is my life is worthy of our Lord? This morning, see why and how you should walk worthy of your calling.

Verse 18 is the capstone of vv 11-18. Through Christ we have access to the Father. The word access speaks of the ability of one person in a lower status to have an introduction to someone of a higher status. We were made for communion. God’s Word teaches us that Christ is the one who has restored this communion. As we return one final time to this section of Ephesians, I want you to see three aspects of our access from v 18.

There is a connection between Passover and Good Friday which many seem to miss. Once we understand that the deliverance of Israel from Egypt was the forerunner of the final deliverance from sin and death, we will never look at Good Friday the same. However, Good Friday is not 'good' if you are not in Christ.

Suffering is promised to the Christian. There is suffering because of the fallen state of humanity in general, and also because of a Christian's obedience to the commands of the King, Who the world hates. The same King Whose promises provide a Great Hope for the Christian but great trembling to those who oppose Him.

Many people forget that 'adoption' is not just a doctrine, but a term used to legally pronounce someone as a child belonging to another - with all rights and privileges as biological offspring. In this sermon, we discuss the great joy of walking in the Spirit and how our justification through faith in Christ establishes our glorious adoption as sons and daughters of The Most High God.

As the Christian starts to understand the concept of the potter and the clay, they realize that the right of sonship has less to do with the vessel which was prepared for honourable use and more to do with the potter who fashioned it for such a purpose. He is our Father, the potter; and all of us are the work of His sovereign hand.
