At one time all the people of the world spoke the same language and used the same words. As the people migrated to the east, they found a plain in the land of Babylonia and settled there. They began saying to each other, “Let’s make bricks and harden them with fire.” (In this region bricks were used…

Like-Minded If you grew up in the church of Christ you heard phrases like “book chapter and verse”. You heard phrases like, we speak were the bible speaks and we are silent where the bible is silent. We hear biblical phrases consistently that speak to our context of A Capella singing, such as let us…

Christopher Campbell • Sermon • • 810 views • 28:01
When theological questions and disagreements arise in the church, the best evidence for the right answer is to observe what God has already spoken and how God Himself is acting! Testimonies about God's actions cause debators to be silenced and the church to move forward together in unity!

Introduction: 6 And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. 18 Then I told them about how the gracious hand of God had been on me, and about my conversation with the king. Turn Around Go out where it is deeper One day as Jesus was preaching on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, great crowds pressed in on him to listen to the word of God. He noticed two empty boats at the water’s edge, for the fishermen had left them and were washing their nets. Stepping into one of the boats,…

Noise_pt2: The Spirit of Prayer This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him. “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe…
Philippians
Andre Alves-Areias • Sermon • • 1,758 views • 21:15
Introduction In our study of Philippians, we’ve seen how Paul loves this church who are in partnership with him in the gospel. But there’s a reason why Paul is writing this letter. Yes, it’s to encourage them. Yes, it’s to let them know that he is still rejoicing in prison - that his circumstances haven’t…

The Gibeonites were neither a victory nor a defeat - it was sort of a draw. They made a covenant with Israel, even though God had told Israel not to make any covenants with the people of the land that they were going to possess. In the end, even though Israel had disobeyed God, they kept the covenant with the Gibeonites. And even though the Gibeonites had deceived Israel, they were kept alive and became servants to the God of Israel. Covenant teaches us that while rules and obedience are important, loyalty in a relationship is even more important.

On this Palm Sunday, we pause to consider the thoughts Jesus must have been thinking as he approached the events of Holy Week. Our sermon text is Philippians 2:5-11 where we’ll explore what having a mindset like Christ means for us.
