The Great Divide
Jesus was not self driven.
His submissive obedience to the Father controlled all that He did.
His brothers knew him, the Jews knew from where He came.
Yet, they did not know that Jesus was doing the will of the Father.
They knew the man Jesus but they did not know the One who taught Jesus.
Today is no different.
People love knowledge.
They like to be amazed.
We all like to feel a rush of excitement.
On the news last night a reporter said how people today are seeking an authentic experience over clothes, gadgets, etc.
They are spending their money on trips, and exotic adventures rather than spending money on things.
Christ or Deceiver
John 7:
John points out how Jesus forced people to react.
I wonder how long we would put up with Christ if He were to personally step into our lives?

I don’t think I would last long around Jesus the human.
He didn’t play with sin, He exposed it!

Verse 15 once again seems to indicate that the Jews either did not know Jesus or only heard about him but never personally met him.
John 7:11-12
It just seems odd to be that the Jewish leaders were looking for him as were people talking about him.
Yet Jesus was there in secret and even when He was teaching there was still amazement over the depth of His teaching.
