Luke 17:11-19
Christmas. The merchants gear up for a busy season of sales and making money. People in general look forward to a big meal where they eat to much and visit with family and friends. Then they start worrying where the money is going to come from to buy all the gifts for Christmas.
Thanksgiving is one time of the year that some people, not all unfortunately, stop and give thanks to God for the many blessings they have received throughout the year. We, as Christians, should be giving thanks all year long, but this one day we are to focus in on the things that come to mind that our Lord has given us. Being thankful to a gracious, forgiving God should be at the top of our list. Thankful for Jesus, our Savior, for the love he displayed by giving His life for our sins. Thankful to a forgiving, patient Lord. Who puts up with us, imperfect people and forgives when we ask and repent.

Our Scripture today is
; And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. 12 And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: 13 And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. 14 And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. 15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, 16 And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. 17 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? 18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. 19 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.

Introduction: America has a lot to be thankful for! We live in the greatest Country in the world. Most of us have plenty to eat and to spare, and we have the freedom to speak, worship, and express ourselves freely! But too often we are ungrateful for the things we have!
15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
