Introduction:
In the early 1800's some Methodist Missionaries traveled to Northeast Alabama to spread the gospel. They came across some Indians some of whom spoke English. They gave one of the English speaking Indians a Bible and asked him to read it. He said I will return in one year to discuss it with you. During the next year the Indian read the Bible through and through. His heart was pricked and he wanted to serve God. The next year the same Methodist Missionary showed up. He found the Indian to whom he had given the Bible and asked, "Did you read it?". The Indian replied, "I did read it and I want to be baptized" The Methodist missionary was overwhelmed. He could hardly believe it and he invited the Indian back to his tent. When they got to the tent he filled up a bowl with water. The Indian looked at the bowl and asked what is that for. The Methodist said, "I am going to baptized you." The Indian replied, "You are going to baptize me with that." The Methodist replied, "YES". The Indian said, "Well then you gave me the wrong Bible".

I) If Baptism Is Sprinkling/Pouring

 A) Some Teach That One Can Have Water Sprinkled/Poured On Them For Baptism

B) My Bible Says People Are Immersed When Baptized

  (i)
Matthew 3:13–17 NKJV
Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. And John tried to prevent Him, saying, “I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?” But Jesus answered and said to him, “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him. When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

  (ii)
Acts 8:38 NKJV
So he commanded the chariot to stand still. And both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him.

C) The Greek Words For Baptism, Baptizo and Baptisma, Mean Immersion

 (i) Baptizo
Strong's- from a derivative of 911; to immerse, submerge; to make whelmed (i.e. fully wet); used only (in the New Testament) of ceremonial ablution, especially (technically) of the ordinance of Christian baptism: — Baptist, baptize, wash.
Thayer- to dip repeatedly, to immerse, to submerge (of vessels sunk)
 (ii) Baptisma
  Strong's- from 907; baptism (technically or figuratively): — baptism.AV (22) - baptism 22;
 Thayer- immersion, submersion

D) What Is The Object Of The Action Is Different

(i) Water Is the Object Sprinkled/Poured
 (i) Water Is the Object Sprinkled/Poured

(ii) A Person Is The Object Baptized

II) If Baptism Is Not For The Foreignness Of Sins

A) Most Teach That Baptism Is Not Essential, But Is "An Outward Sign Of An Inward Grace"

B) My Bible Says One Is Baptized For The Foreignness Of Sins

 (i)
Acts 2:38 NKJV
Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
 (ii)
Matthew 26:28 NKJV
For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
 (iii)
1 Peter 3:21 NKJV
There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

III) If One Cannot Fall From Grace

 A) Some Believe That You Can Never Fall Away After Coming To God

B) My Bible Says One Can Fall Away

 (i)
Revelation 2:10 NKJV
Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
 (ii)
Hebrews 6:6 NKJV
if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.
 (iv)
Galatians 5:4 NKJV
You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.
 (v)
Acts 8:18–23 NKJV
And when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money, saying, “Give me this power also, that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit.” But Peter said to him, “Your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money! You have neither part nor portion in this matter, for your heart is not right in the sight of God. Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you. For I see that you are poisoned by bitterness and bound by iniquity.”

IV) If One Church Is As Good As Another

A) Denominationalism Is The Idea That All Churches Are Equal

B) My Bible Talks Of One Church

B) My Bible Talks Of One Church

 (i)
Matthew 16:16–18 NKJV
Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
 (ii)
Ephesians 4:4 NKJV
There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling;
 (iii)
Ephesians 1:22–23 NKJV
And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

V) If Faith Alone Saves Us

A) Many Teach That Faith Alone Saves Us

B) My Bible Teaches That One is Not Saved By Faith Alone

(i)
James 2:18–20 NKJV
But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?
(ii)
James 2:24–26 NKJV
You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
