Gen.6:6 This verse has puzzled students of the Bible for many years. The phrase “it repented the Lord” does not mean that God changed (Num. 23:19; 1 Sam. 15:29; Mal. 3:6; James 1:17), or that He is affected by sorrow or other feelings which are common to humanity. However, it was necessary for the inspired biblical writers to use terms which were comprehensible to the minds of human beings. A person cannot conceive of God except in human terms and concepts.

LN 68.34-68.57 (nif) relent, i.e., to cease a particular course of action, usually with a focus that a gracious act. has occurred, with a possible implication that one grieves or has sorrow over an object or event, see also LN 88.75–88.82 (Ex 32:12, 14; Ps 106:45; Isa 57:6; Jer 4:28; 18:8; 26:3, 13, 19; Eze 24:14; Joel 2:13; Am 7:3, 6; Jnh 4:2+), note: some sources also place here an implication that this is a change of opinion concerning truth, but the contexts focus on future merciful behaviors and actions; 6. LN 38.1-38.13 (hitp) avenge oneself, formally, comfort, i.e., punish another with vindication and legitimacy, as an extension of feeling personal comfort that a situation is now just (Eze 5:13+) 5162. nāḥam: A verb meaning to be sorry, to pity, to comfort, to avenge. The verb often means to be sorry or to regret: the Lord was sorry that He had made people (Gen. 6:6); He led Israel in a direction to avoid war when they left Egypt, lest they became so sorry and grieved that they would turn back (Ex. 13:17). The Lord had compassion on His people (i.e., He became sorry for them because of the oppression their enemies placed on them [Judg. 2:18]). While the Lord could be grieved, He did not grieve or become sorry so that He changed His mind as a human does (1 Sam. 15:29). The word also means to comfort or console oneself. Isaac was comforted after Sarah, his mother, died (Gen. 24:67). The verb always means to console or comfort. Jacob refused to be comforted when he believed that Joseph had been killed (Gen. 37:35). To console is synonymous with showing kindness to someone, as when David consoled Hanun, king of the Ammonites, over the death of his father (2 Sam. 10:2). God refused to be consoled over the destruction of His people (Isa. 22:4; 40:1); yet He comforts those who need it (Ps. 119:82; Isa. 12:1). The passive form of the word means to be comforted: the afflicted city of Zion would be comforted by the Lord (Isa. 54:11; 66:13). In the reflexive stem, it can mean to get revenge for oneself (Gen. 27:42; Ezek. 5:13); to let oneself be sorry or have compassion (Num. 23:19; Deut. 32:36); and to let oneself be comforted (Gen. 37:35; Ps. 119:52).

A primitive root; TWOT 1666, 1667; GK 6771 and 6772; 17 occurrences; AV translates as “grieve” 10 times, “displeased” once, “hurt” once, “made” once, “sorry” once, “vexed” once, “worship” once, and “wrest” once. 1 to hurt, pain, grieve, displease, vex, wrest. 1a (Qal) to hurt, pain. 1b (Niphal) to be in pain, be pained, be grieved. 1c (Piel) to vex, torture. 1d (Hiphil) to cause pain. 1e (Hithpael) to feel grieved, be vexed. 2 to shape, fashion, make, form, stretch into shape, (TWOT) worship. 2a (Piel) to shape, form. 2b (Hiphil) to form, copy, fashion. ˓āṣaḇ: A verb meaning to hurt, to pain, to grieve, to shape, to fashion. This word has two separate meanings. The first meaning deals with physical pain (Eccl. 10:9); emotional pain (1 Sam. 20:34); or some combination of physical and emotional pain (1 Chr. 4:10). The word is also used of David’s inaction when Adonijah attempted to usurp the throne (1 Kgs. 1:6). The second meaning generally refers to creative activity, such as the kind God exercised when He created human bodies (Job 10:8); or the creative activity of people (Jer. 44:19). In both these instances, the word occurs in parallel with the word ˓āśāh (6213), which means to make or to do.

Deut 15:10 (NASB95) “You shall generously give to him, and your heart shall not be grieved when you give to him, because for this thing the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in all your undertakings. (NIV) Give generously to him and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to.
Nailed (Acts 2:23) 4362 προσπήγνυμι [prospegnumi /pros·payg·noo·mee/] v. From 4314 and 4078; GK 4699; AV translates as “crucify” once. 1 to fasten. prospé̄gnumi; fut. prospé̄xō, from prós (4314), to, and pé̄gnumi (4078) to fix or pitch. To fix or fasten to something, affix, crucify trans. (Acts 2:23) PROSPĒGNUMI (προσπήγνυμι , (4362)), to fix or fasten to anything (pros, to, pēgnumi, to fix), is used of the crucifixion of Christ, Acts 2:23.
Nailed (Col )
Col.2:14 4338 προσηλόω [proseloo /pros·ay·lo·o/] v. From 4314 and a derivative of 2247; GK 4669; AV translates as “nail to” once. 1 to fasten with nails to, nail to. 4338. προσηλόω prosēlóō; contracted prosēló̄, fut. prosēló̄sō, from prós (4314), to, and hēlóō (n.f.), to sharpen, become hard or fixed, which is from hé̄los (2247), nail, peg, stud or callous. To nail to something, affix with nails, with the acc. and dat. (Col. 2:14) PROSĒLOŌ (προσηλόω , (4338)), to nail to (pros, to, and a verbal form of A), is used in Col. 2:14, in which the figure of a bond (ordinances of the Law) is first described as cancelled, and then removed; the idea in the verb itself is not that of the cancellation, to which the taking out of the way was subsequent, but of nailing up the removed thing in triumph to the Cross. The Death of Christ not only rendered the Law useless as a means of salvation, but gave public demonstration that it was so
