We need to follow this example
This is a world full of sin, sorrow, suffering - we will experience pain, loss and grief before we die
We must remember always that no matter what, Jesus is there - we need to know this before troubles come
We need to know what to do when sickness, death, loss, disappointment assaults us
Let’s remember to tell Jesus, first
Jesus: the perfect Doctor (33-34)
As soon as Jesus took the woman’s hand, the fever left her
Not only was she healed, she was back on her feet and serving them!
She was not weakened by the sickness, she came back strong!
This is how Jesus heals us of our sin-sickness
not only mercy and forgiveness - renewing grace!
If we receive Him as our doctor
power to become sons of God
cleans us with His Spirit
washes us in His precious blood
Justifies and sanctifies us
bestows a new heart
forgives us all our sins
Gives us strength for service and ministry
We are not just healed of our sin-sickness, we gain a new heart and a right spirit, so we can live to please God
Word spread because of the exorcism in the synagogue and the healing - everyone came
Conclusion and Summary
If you want to serve Christ, but are afraid to begin:
Many like you
Afraid that if they come forward, they will fail
They fear that if they fail, they will shame their profession of faith
Fear no longer
Jesus is an almighty saviour - never forsakes us, will give us power to persevere
Once raised by Him, they will continue to the end.
Power to overcome the world, crucify the flesh, resist the devil
They just have to begin - Jesus will enable them to finish
If you are serving Christ, these words should comfort you
Don’t worry about your human weakness - we all have this affliction
Don’t worry about doubts and anxiety/fear
Do not fear
Difficulties will disappear
The lion that blocks us, is in fact chained
The Jesus who saved you will give you the power to continue to the end.
He will love to the end-he will never lose even one sheep
The healed soul will always serve the Lord - Grace will always lead to glory
