Birth of Scientology
Began in 1952 by L. Ron Hubbard.
Hubbard was a sci-fi author.
After serving in WWII decided he wanted to explore the mind to bring healing.
The first book he wrote on Scientology was Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health
Dianetics refers to a method of removing engrams and their negative effects from the mind.

In the 1960s he added Have You Lived Before This Life? (1960); Scientology a New Slant on Life (1965); Introduction to Scientology Ethics (1968); and The Phoenix Lectures (1968).
