We worship an awesome God
I am so grateful that this past week I was able to start to really reflect on the true impact of the Vision Conference… These are truly moments that elevate our perspective.
A moment in life to be engulfed in worship, praise, fellowship and Bible study.
Many of us paused everything else in our lives for a moment to focus wholly on God and His kingdom.
There were some complaints though… the main complaint was that we couldn’t invite friends to the conference for free… I get it… it truly was a moment you didn’t want to miss, but do we have the same attitude all the time....
God is in the whisper… He is just a present in middle school cafetorium as He is in a huge conference… We need to learn to look for and appreciate the whispers of the Lord… the moments he grabs our hearts and molds our minds.
We are so accustomed of the miraculous that it becomes mundane...
EX.
Kyle Mead is a budding magician… In a past life I was also a magician, a couple of weeks ago he showed me some of the tricks that he was learning and because I KNEW what he was doing, I was unimpressed… But you know what, last week he showed me a couple new tricks and EVEN THOUGH I KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING, I COULDN’T SEE IT!
The cool thing was the same sense of amazement I felt as a 10 year old when I first saw magic came back…
The same thing can happen to us spiritually… Many of us have been doing this for a minute and are easily unimpressed.
A major reason that we deal with spiritual fatigue and get caught up in evil is a lack of “fear of God” this happens when we fail to live in a state of being awestruck.
Jeremiah 2:19 (NIV)
19 Your wickedness will punish you; your backsliding will rebuke you.
Consider then and realize how evil and bitter it is for you when you forsake the Lord your God and have no awe of me,” declares the Lord, the Lord Almighty.
We need to push past the clutter and the noise so that we can encounter GOD!
We need to find him in His Word!
Are we as hungry for God’s word today as we were in the day of our baptism?
Do we still stand in awe of God’s wisdom? the penetrating nature of the bible?
Or have we become unimpressed with the scriptures over the years?
We need to be continually inspired by His work.
Do God’s deeds inspire us?
Are we in awe of him?
Do we stand in reverent amazement?
We need to come to Him is a posture of learner… not a teacher.
We need to revive daily the feeling of wonder that we felt in the moments that we were most impacted by God!
The joy of new salvation, the exhilaration of being part of something larger than ourselves.
The conviction of belonging to an invincible kingdom!
We must allow God to break our hearts and excite us again!!!
One of the most awe inspiring miracles that I have ever witnessed is the repentance and transformation of a sinner… I remember a time when many would pause everything and interrupt their lives to welcome a new christian out of the waters of baptism and into the Kingdom of God… We need to get back to being that excited about salvation!
