Who do you trust? Is God capable of taking care of all the details in your life?

The story of David and Goliath is part of a bigger story. It is not simply to help us face "our Goliaths", although properly understood, it is that too. Rather it points us to the one whom David prefigured so well on that day, one who is perfect, and faced a far more terrifying enemy: our Lord Jesus Christ. Let us prayerfully consider not only the full weight of what He has accomplished for us, but also whether that victory has caused us to "rise with a shout and pursue".

We should always trust in the Lord: 1. Because He cares when we are confused (vs. 16-19). 2. Because He fully knows the future (vs. 16, 19-20). 3. Because He will take you through your troubles (vs. 20). 4. Because He can totally transform your life (vs. 20-22).

Trust in the Lord: 1. When life is a mystery (vs. 1-6; 32-36). 2. When we are in agony (vs. 17-21). 3. For His ability (vs. 21-25; 39-44). 4. For our eternity (vs. 26-27).

How can we make a difference in our generation? 1. Focus on family (vs. 1). 2. Go forward in God's grace (vs. 1-6). 3. Pursue our purpose in God's plan (vs. 15-16). 4. Trust God to work today (vs. 17).

Here Jesus helps us learn how to pray... 1. He reminds us to make sure His Father is our Father (vs. 9). 2. He teaches us pour out our praise to God (vs. 9). 3. He teaches us seek God’s will in our world (vs. 10).

1. We should never accuse Jesus of being sinful (vs. 9-10). 2. We should let Jesus teach us (vs. 11-12). 3. We should treasure what Jesus treasures (vs. 11-12). 4. We should trust Jesus to do what’s best for us (vs. 13-15).

Here Jesus teaches us... 1. To have frequent conversations with our Father (vs. 11). 2. To focus on forgiveness (vs. 12, 14-15). 3. To pray for God's leadership (vs. 13). 4. To pray for God's deliverance (vs. 13).

Since God sees us every moment, we should... 1. Be generous givers (vs. 1-3). 2. Be people of prayer (vs. 5-8). 3. Pay attention to our attitudes (vs. 1-6). 4. Rejoice in our rewards from God (vs. 3-4, 6). 5. Recognize that we can always rely on God (vs. 7-8).
